The tenth round of Wellcome Image Awards was announced on 14 October 2009, recognising the creators of the most informative, striking and technically excellent images among recent acquisitions to the Wellcome Images collection of medical and historical images.
Selected by a panel of expert judges, the images were created using techniques ranging from light and electron microscopy to illustration and photography.
The winning images are on display in Wellcome Collection until 1 June 2010. See visitor information.
